[AKN #88] Work In A Growing Industry
LAUGH: Turtle Content, LOVE: Slime That Will Give You Nightmares
Sup homies?
I’ve been doing some personal development work recently which I’ve been wanting to write about for some time now.
However, the post just hasn’t germinated in my conscious mind yet.
Like I have the vague concept and I can feel it at the tip of my subconscious, but I can’t form the right words to it yet.
Which is frustrating. Like I really, really want it to be there…but it’s not.
Unfortunately, your brain can’t be rushed.
It’s a lot like the hit children’s rhyme “I’m a little teapot.”
Like here is it’s handle. Here is it’s spout.
And it’s getting all steamed up and I’m at the other end ready for it to shout “Tip me over and pour me out!”
But nothing comes.
Instead an absurd metaphor to a children’s rhyme comes tumbling out.
And you know what? I never realized how oddly sexual that song sounded until I tried to work it into a piece of writing. But it’s unseeable now.
Anyway.
I could try to force it out this week, but if I do it will come out more weird and awkward than that kid you went to high school with who identifies as a “Japanophile.”
Like we get it David. Your rich family took you to Tokyo every summer and you love their train system. Shut the fuck up.
So in the name of not being David, I’m going to keep letting that post work itself out in my mind and instead give you unsolicited career advice.

LIVE: Work In A Growing Industry
What should you work on?
Whatever industry is growing.
Where there is growth, there is opportunity everywhere.
Everyone is drowning in work and you are all running to plug the holes.
Along the way everyone becomes a leader in the company or leaves to a competitor growing just as fast.
Sounds dope.
Where this is no growth, there is no opportunity unless you outwork your coworker in the fierce competition for middle manager roles.
You work more hours and you develop skills which are only relevant at your current company.
Sounds lame.
Instead identify a growing industry and go work in it.
To identify a growing industry, you can start by taking a look at this Twitter thread:
Or use the heuristic: “where is the cost to produce a really valuable thing dropping significantly?” like in:
Genomics
Lab Grown Meat
(Which Will Also Have Product Narrative Fit Because It Fits With Climate Change Tech Trend And Eat Less Meat Trend)
Solar Panels
(Bonus Due To Catching Climate Tech Trend)
Ensure that you work in an industry that is growing and you can be sure there will be plenty of room for you too to grow.
LAUGH: Exclusive Turtle Content
As a loyal subscriber to Another Krappy Newsletter, I am thrilled to provide you an all access look at two premium turtle videos.
In the first video, you will witness a buffalo saving a turtle from certain death.
Absolutely heart warming.
Next, you will witness an alligator trying to cause a turtle certain death.
Absolutely heart wrenching…until you get to the turtles great escape which is HILARIOUS.
Seriously like how fucked up is evolution that this thing is literally ON THE BRINK OF DEATH and that’s how fast he can move.
Epic.
LOVE: Slime That Will Give You Nightmares
I bet you are wondering what scientists are up to now that they ended the COVID pandemic.
Well, ends up they’re trying to create the comic book villain Venom in real life.
Ok. Sure, that’s terrifying.
HOWEVER, you small thinking weenies need to realize that this is the same breakthrough technology which will bring us real life Flubber.
The future is coming faster than you think.
