[AKN #116] Taking The Next 3 Weeks Off For Wedding And Honeymoon
LAUGH: Funny Six Word Story, LOVE: Vase That Puts Out Fires
Sup homies?
I get married this upcoming weekend. That’s a pretty surreal sentence to write.
We started planning this over a year ago and it has forever felt like it was 6 months away until this last week.
Crazy how that happens.
After the wedding, I am immediately going on my honeymoon.
I. Am. So. Excited.
However, as I don’t want to be dealing with WiFi issues nor thinking dumb thoughts like “oh sorry I can’t make snorkeling because I have to get this edition of the newsletter out!”
I will be taking a break from sending the newsletter until November 15.
I struggled with making this decision as there is a certain unease I feel about breaking a streak of 116 consecutive weeks of sending it out.
But I also don’t like the alternative.
The alternative is me putting about 40 seconds into writing this newsletter for the next three weeks and you getting something that is just “meh.”
All in the name of me keeping my streak.
That alternative sounds selfish and stupid.
Selfish because I would only be doing that for me, even if it didn’t work for you.
Stupid because continuing to do this for the next 3 weeks when I really don’t want to would simply be me falling prey to the sunk cost fallacy.
I strive to be neither of those things.
So I will take my leave now.
I’ll talk to you again when I return :)
On to the newsletter!
LIVE: Take A Break
A hand crafted, artisanal post by me
Seriously. You aren’t as important as you think you are.
Take some time off to rest, recharge, and be present with the people you love.
LAUGH: Funny Six Word Story
A curated joke I found wading through the cesspool of the Internet
A Six Word Story is an entire story told in six words.
The most popular one was apparently written by Ernest Hemingway when he wrote “For sale: baby shoes. Never worn.”
Gut punch of a story, but there is a new contender in town for best in class…
LOVE: Vase That Puts Out Fires
Something I have been loving
Super clever idea for an emergency fire extinguisher.
CLOSING TIME
A call to action to help me build a community of homies
